Rajgir, Oct 22 (PTI) India and New Zealand U-20 teams will play a rugby series here from October 23, celebrating a century of sporting ties between the two countries.

The series will be played at the Rajgir Spots Complex with the teams set to have joint training sessions and cultural exchanges during their stay.

“The visiting New Zealand squads — Tama Toa (men’s team) and Hine Toa (women’s team) — comprise 24 young Māori players selected from across New Zealand,” the organisers said in a release.

“Their visit marks the first time New Zealand’s U-20 rugby teams have travelled to India for a series of this nature, making Rajgir the setting for a significant milestone in the sporting relationship between the two countries.”

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
