New Delhi: Donald Trump is an “alpha male” but Prime Minister Narendra Modi is “alpha male ka baap”, BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut said Thursday, taking a jibe at the US President for warning Apple CEO Tim Cook not to manufacture in India.

In a social media post, which has now been deleted, the BJP MP from Mandi asked if Trump’s actions reflect his “personal jealousy or diplomatic insecurity”.

She compared the two leaders on three counts: “1. He is (the) American president but the world’s most loved leader is (the) Indian Prime Minister. 2. (It’s) Trump’s second term but (the) Indian Prime Minister’s third term. 3. Undoubtedly, Trump is alpha male but our PM sab Alpha male ka baap,” she posted on X.

“What do you think?” she asked her followers. “This is personal jealousy or diplomatic insecurity?”

Ranaut later deleted her post and said she regrets sharing her “very personal opinion” on social media.

The BJP leader said she deleted the post after she received a call from BJP national president J.P. Nadda.

“Respected national president Shri @JPNadda ji called and asked me to delete the tweet I had posted regarding Trump asking Apple CEO Tim Cook not to manufacture in India. I regret posting that very personal opinion of mine, as per instructions I immediately deleted it from Instagram as well,” she posted.

Past controversies

The Mandi MP has often been in the spotlight for making contentious remarks on a wide range of issues, from politics to social matters.

In 2024, she had landed the BJP in a soup in poll-bound Haryana when she alleged  in an interview that during the farmers’ agitation of 2020-2021 “bodies were hanging and rapes were taking place” and that there was a “plan to create a Bangladesh-like situation in India”.

The BJP was quick to react and had issued a statement that Kangana’s remarks in the context of the farmers’ agitation were “not the opinion of the party”.

Kangana made her foray into politics in 2024 when she contested the Lok Sabha polls from the Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh.

Soon after her election, Kangana was alleged slapped by a woman constable at the Chandigarh airport for “disrespecting farmers”. The constable had said her mother was part of the sit-in demonstration.

  1. Is this going to be always America First or Rashtra Pratham?
Trump seems to be the real Don of the World.

Indira Gandhi during her PM was the real GOAT, now we realise. Fortunately we have the video & written document where she openly played down & defied American President & their Secretary of State.
