New Delhi: False narratives are being spread and imaginary fear created to spur political instability in the country especially on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and farm laws, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday while addressing BJP workers on the occasion of the party’s 41 Foundation Day.

Modi said a false narrative is being spread, be it about CAA, farm laws or the labour laws. He asked BJP workers to be mindful of such actions and make people aware of it.

“Every BJP worker has to understand that there is well-intentioned politics behind it … this is a big conspiracy. Its purpose is to create political instability in the country. Therefore, various rumors are spread in the country, confusion is spread. It is said that the constitution will be changed. It is said that the reservation will be done away with. Sometimes they say citizenship will be snatched, sometimes they say farmers’ land will be snatched. But these are all white lies. Party workers need to make people aware of it,” he said.

The PM went on to say that such rumours are being spread by those who have lost their political relevance and those who have always been the “enemies” of the BJP.

Modi’s speech came on a day Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Assam and West Bengal went to polls for the ongoing assembly elections.

‘Our workers are attacked, but remain steadfast’

Modi began the address by paying tribute to the leaders of the party such as Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Kushabhau Thackeray, Raj Mata Sindhiya and Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Terming BJP as a “movement to win hearts”, PM Modi slammed the opposition parties for calling it an “election-winning machine.”

“When BJP wins elections, it’s called ‘election-winning machine’, but if others win, there’s appreciation of leaders. People who say we are an ‘election-winning machine’ don’t understand India’s Constitution. The truth is that BJP is not an ‘election-winning machine’, but a continuous movement to win hearts.”

Appreciating the work done by party workers on ground, PM mentioned how many of them were killed and attacked but remained steadfast to their ideology. “In states like Kerala and West Bengal, our workers are threatened, they are attacked, their family is attacked. But they remain steadfast in their ideology. At the same time, the fate of dynasty and family driven politics is also being seen in 21st century India,” he said.

Attacking the opposition, Modi said, “Parties that began with help from local aspirations, became a family-based party later. These parties, who were wearing a mask of secularism, are finally being unmasked.”

In contrast, Modi said, the “BJP means defeating dynasty-based politics”.

“It means an opportunity to able leadership. It means transparency and good governance. It means ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas, Sabka Vishwas‘”.

Elaborating on the work done by the government, PM Modi especially mentioned how small farmers and women have been empowered. He also cited the triple talaq law, increasing maternity leave for women and giving them greater property rights.

  1. Not won hearts but rather created division and hatred and yiu will never be forgotten for this Mr PM,,, your lies have been the biggest proof of all your wild speeches,, where not once your failures were highlighted, instead it was like someone prsising his own tail,,,, whst a shame,,, and to have this said to the nation now is even a bigger white lie

  2. If BJP is a movement, why they are fighting election and attacking opponents. PM has even gone to the extent of catcalls again an elected CM in West Bengal using strange tone Didi O Didi… A movement people join on their own and through detection and inducement through various means. A movement never happen for power. JP movement was not for power as Lok Nayak himself kept away, others like Modi used the movement to get into power. So much about BJP movement.
