New Delhi: Taking forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aggressive bid to remove “corrupt” government officials, now Arvind Kejriwal’s Delhi government will prepare a list of corrupt officials in various departments to be “retired compulsorily”.

CM Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia called on Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal Saturday to discuss the issue. Sources said Kejriwal also discussed the compulsory retirement with chief secretary Vijay Kumar Dev in detail.

Members of the Delhi cabinet have been directed to prepare a list of corrupt officials in their respective departments. This will be in line with the Modi government’s initiative of retiring such officers under Fundamental Rule 56(J) of Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1972.

In a letter dated 20 June to the secretaries of all ministries and departments, as ThePrint reported earlier, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) stated that “the ministries/departments should ensure that the prescribed procedure like forming of opinion to retire a government employee prematurely in public interest is strictly adhered to and the decision is not an arbitrary one and is not based on collateral grounds”.

An AAP spokesperson said even during his 49-day tenure as CM in 2013-14, Kejriwal had ordered a major crackdown against corrupt officials.

“During the last four-and-a-half years, the elected Delhi government has come across officials who opposed public welfare policies for extraneous considerations and harmed the interests of Delhi,” a Delhi government press release stated.

“The government is aware of some cases in which officers refused to implement welfare policies for completely untenable reasons, which require a through probe into their acts of omission and commission.”

  1. If the Centre can do it, and Yogi in U.P., then why not Kejriwal in Delhi? What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander too.

  2. Today’s Kejriwal, the CM of Delhi is just opposite of the Kejriwal of Anna agitation. Today’s Kejriwal tops the list of worst opportunist leaders of recent times. When he speaks his words emits from his mouth as knives are being showered on people. His words rarely make sense to the majority of people. His support base of Muslims that he had nurtured by non-stop abusing of Modi, RSS and BJP has also seems to have shifted back towards Congress. The coming state election of Delhi must send Kejriwal back to his NGO business where he can wear another mask but can he hide behind the mask .this time!!

    • AK Dev is supporting corrupt officers like BJP’s.
Big talks and मन की बात will work in other states but not with honest Kejriwal’s government who do not full their pocket through corrupt orders and collaborative corrupt actions of officers.
Hence now AK Dev is afraid that big talks of retiring corrupt officers will get exposed and in it’s garb those honest officers would be retired who will not follow BJP’s corrupt orders like CBI Chief was forced to be removed, Urjit Patel left , Labour officers resigned, etc etc
