Kolkata, Aug 8 (PTI) West Bengal Higher Education Minister Jagannath Chattopadhyay on Saturday said the government will follow a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards extortion during the admission process in colleges and universities.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a programme, Chattopadhyay said his government is determined to weed out any attempt at corruption.

“Mark my words. We are pursuing zero tolerance towards any attempt to bully, intimidate, rag and also extort from students during the admission process,” he said.

Chatttopadhyay said all college principals have been asked to coordinate with the state education headquarters, Bikash Bhawan, regarding this. PTI SUS SOM
