Dehradun, Oct 8 (PTI) Bigg Boss fame YouTuber Anurag Dobhal and three of his associates were arrested on Thursday on charges of assaulting and attempting to kidnap his wife’s cousin, officials said.

According to police, acting on a complaint filed by Raj Chauhan, a resident of the Banjarawala area in Dehradun, police arrested 29-year-old Dobhal, a resident of Chandigarh, and his three associates from the Premnagar area.

Police identified the associates as Abhishek (22) of Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Abhay Chaudhary (23) of Haridwar (Uttarakhand), and Kurban (23) of Panipat (Haryana).

Police said in his complaint lodged on October 6, Chauhan alleged that Dobhal and his associates had called him to meet on the Haridwar Bypass Road in Dehradun on October 5.

He reported that upon his arrival, they forced him into their vehicle and assaulted him, causing serious injuries. The complaint further alleged that Dobhal also attempted to kidnap him.

Police said they registered a case, investigated, and arrested the accused based on the evidence. PTI SPY ASD

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
