Noida, Sep 27 (PTI) The Uttar Pradesh Police’s high-tech stall at the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS)-2026 has attracted more than 15,000 visitors over the past three days, with domestic and foreign visitors showing interest in its policing technologies and equipment, according to an official statement on Sunday.
It said visitors at the stall in Hall No. 4 were being briefed about various aspects of policing, including cybercrime prevention, road safety, surveillance and emergency response systems.
According to the statement, the cyber help desk was among the major attractions, where police personnel explained to students and visitors the methods used in online fraud, including so-called “digital arrest” scams, and ways to avoid them.
Visitors also sought information about frauds taking place through Telegram and other online platforms. The police explained the use of the “U-Feed” machine, which, according to the statement, can extract data from mobile phones of suspected criminals and help investigators trace fraudsters.
“A breath analyser equipped with a camera and a speed radar gun also drew attention from young visitors. DG Dial 112 Vinod Kumar Singh said cameras had been added to breath analysers since 2023 to record the testing process and address disputes over the results,” according to the statement.
“Body-worn cameras and mobile data terminals displayed at the stall also drew interest, with visitors being shown how such equipment can assist police personnel in monitoring activities and accessing information in real time,” the statement said.
The stall also showcased equipment used by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Special Task Force (STF), including sniper rifles, close-quarter battle equipment, tactical communication systems and bomb disposal equipment.
Singh said the UP Police also has a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)-manufactured rocket launcher with a range of up to two kilometres, according to the statement.
A firefighting robot and a rescue robot, designed for use in locations that may be difficult or unsafe for personnel to reach, were among the other equipment displayed at the stall.
The official statement quoted a student, Amit, as saying visitors were getting an opportunity to see police technology and equipment from close quarters.
“Our UP Police is now not limited to preventing crime, but is also ahead in every aspect of technology and security,” he said.
The statement said the police’s modernisation efforts over the past nine years included connecting police stations with modern technology, setting up specialised cybercrime units and expanding CCTV networks, information technology systems and forensic capabilities.
It also cited initiatives such as the 1090 Women Power Line, Pink Booths and Mission Shakti for women’s safety.
According to the statement, the trade show stall was intended to familiarise visitors with the technology, equipment and systems used by the state police.
