UP cop caught masturbating in front of mother-daughter duo arrested, dismissed from service

Inspector Bhishmpal Singh Yadav was recorded by a woman complainant when she visited the police station along with her daughter to lodge a complaint on 22 June.

New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh Police announced Thursday that Inspector Bhishmpal Singh Yadav who was caught masturbating at a woman and her daughter inside a police station in Deoria has been arrested.

The arrest, which was made Wednesday, was announced on the official Twitter handle of the Uttar Pradesh DGP.

A former station house officer of Bhatni police station, Yadav was recorded by the woman complainant when she had visited the police station along with her daughter to lodge a land dispute complaint on 22 June.

The woman has said that she decided to record the video after she was fed up with his repeated obscene acts. The video has since gone viral on social media.

Yadav was suspended on 26 June and an FIR under sections 166 (public servant disobeying law), 354-A (sexual harassment) and 509 (act with intent to insult the modesty of woman) of the IPC logged against him on 30 June.

Cop was absconding after FIR against him 

Yadav had been absconding since the FIR against him and Shripati Mishra, the superintendent of police (SP), Deoria, had Wednesday announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for help in locating the inspector.

The SP had also said it wasn’t the first time that Yadav had caught the attention of his seniors. Earlier, he was transferred from the Salempur Kotwali police station only two days after he was posted there for alleged dereliction of duty.
