Thane, Jul 12 (PTI) Two structural collapse incidents occurred in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, though there were no reports of anyone getting hurt in these, civic officials said.

The first incident occurred at Himgiri Society in Sector 7 in Koparkhairane, which involved the collapse of the ceiling slab of a bedroom in flat number 103, an official said.

A team under the Khoparkhairane ward officer will take engineering inspection and further action, he added.

In the second incident, a portion of the ceiling plaster peeled off and collapsed on the 13th floor of ‘B’ Wing in Maruti Paradise residential society, located at Sector 15 in CBD Belapur, he said.

A rescue vehicle from CBD Belapur Fire Department was sent to the location to clear the debris and secure the area, a release from the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation said.

Action is underway to initiate necessary structural safety audits of the high-rise tower, it said. PTI COR BNM
