Jaipur, May 30 (PTI) Thunderstorms, dust storms and rain are likely to continue in parts of Rajasthan over the next few days under the influence of a western disturbance, the India Meteorological Department said on Saturday.

In the past 24 hours, several parts of the state witnessed strong thunderstorms and rainfall, with Bari in Dholpur district receiving the highest rainfall of 58 mm.

According to the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, areas in the Bikaner, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur, Kota, Jodhpur and Udaipur divisions are likely to witness thunderstorms with strong winds reaching 60-70 kmph and light to moderate rainfall at isolated places later in the day.

The weather office also warned of the possibility of hailstorms and lightning in some areas.

Officials said the weather activity is expected to persist in parts of the state for the next four to five days.

Owing to the prevailing conditions, maximum temperatures are likely to remain below 44 degrees Celsius in most areas, bringing relief from the ongoing heatwave, they said. PTI AG MDO MDO
