Simdega (Jharkhand), Jul 30 (PTI) Three persons, including a girl and two women, were killed in a collision between a car and a scooter in Jharkhand’s Simdega district on Thursday, police said.
The accident took place in Tukupani area under the jurisdiction of Thethaitangar police station, an officer said.
The two women and the girl were travelling on the scooter from Tapudega village towards Konmejra when the driver of a Rourkela-bound speeding car coming from Simdega lost control over the vehicle and swerved to the wrong side, hitting the two-wheeler and then dashing into a roadside tree, he said.
The three persons were rushed to Sadar Hospital, where one woman was declared dead and the girl also succumbed to her injuries, while the other woman was referred to another hospital but she too succumbed to her injuries on the way, the officer said, adding the car driver managed to flee the spot.
