Admiral Adoong Pan-Iam, the commander-in-chief of the Royal Thai Navy, is on a visit India from April 1 to 3, 2024. During his visit, he is expected to discuss bilateral defense cooperation, including training and information sharing.
The visit is aimed at strengthening the defense cooperation between the two countries. As part of the visit, Admiral Adoong Pan-Iam is also scheduled to meet officials from the Indian Defense Industries and the Department of Defense Production. This is to explore the current trends in ship building and identify the future opportunities for ship maintenance and repairs in India.
The Royal Thai Navy has been conducting regular joint naval exercises with India since 2005. The two navies have also been actively participating in the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium and the Indian Ocean Rim Association.
The visit of the Royal Thai Navy commander-in-chief to India is indicative of the strong bilateral relations and enduring friendship between the two navies.
