Jaipur, May 4 (PTI) Rajasthan BJP leaders on Monday hailed the party’s massive lead in West Bengal Assembly elections, terming it historic and crediting it to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing party workers outside the BJP office here, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said the victory came under the Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
“Today is a historic day. The dreams of our leaders are now being fulfilled under Modi’s leadership,” he said.
Referring to BJP ideologue Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Sharma said he had envisioned a strong and united India. Under PM Modi’s leadership, key steps like the abrogation of Article 370 and strengthening of border states are fulfilling that vision.
He described the mandate as crucial not just for West Bengal but for the entire country.
“Party workers faced violence and hardships for years but did not give up. This victory is the result of their struggle and dedication,” he said, alleging that the previous regime was marked by appeasement and corruption.
“The people were distressed. Now West Bengal will move forward on the path of development and good governance,” he said.
State BJP president Madan Rathore said the victory is the outcome of sustained efforts by the central leadership and party workers.
“Under the leadership of Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and other leaders, along with grassroots campaigns, this result has been achieved. The intentions of the previous government have been defeated,” he said.
“Earlier, people were afraid and governance was lacking. Now the BJP will provide good governance and ensure that people get their basic rights. Development work will gain momentum.” Former state BJP president Satish Poonia and senior leader Ashok Parnami, among others, were present at the event. PTI SDA — MNK MNK
