Nagpur, Nov 5 (PTI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday launched an attack on Rahul Gandhi, saying the Congress leader was heading an “international conspiracy”, through which attempts were being made to impose an “ultra-leftist” system of government on India, like Pakistan and Bangladesh.
He also claimed that Gandhi and the Congress want to give voting rights to Bangladeshi infiltrators so that they can steal the Constitution, mandate as well as democracy.
Fadnavis was addressing a gathering during the BJP’s ‘Save Democracy-Remove Anarchy’ protest march here.
“Today, we have gathered here to save democracy and the Constitution, which is being targeted by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his supporters. Gandhi says the fight will now be fought on the streets and not in Parliament. But as long as the Constitution exists, the fight will be fought only in Parliament. But the BJP is also ready to fight on the streets with full might,” the CM said.
This fight is not for the BJP, the NDA or Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but for the Constitution of the country, he added.
“Today, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, an international conspiracy of some kind is underway and it is no ordinary conspiracy. What did they say — ‘We want regime change’. Regime change, not a change of government or a transfer of power. We want to change the system.
“What does ‘system’ mean? It means democracy, the Constitution of India, and the institutions created by that Constitution. They want to change these institutions and the Constitution itself,” Fadnavis alleged.
The Maharashtra CM further said they don’t merely want to replace one government with another.
“They want to bring in an ultra-leftist system, like the one established in Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. They allegedly want to impose it in India through this conspiracy, and Rahul Gandhi is the head of that conspiracy in India,” he claimed.
The same people who orchestrated regime changes in Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are helping him. Their associates can be seen around Rahul Gandhi, the CM said.
“If we don’t wake up, democracy in India will be completely undermined by this conspiracy…Which is why we have taken to the streets. This is only the beginning. We must keep up this fight until Rahul Gandhi’s anti-Constitutional and anti-democratic intentions are defeated,” he said.
The Congress party had since long been indulging in its anti-Constitution activities. Those who are talking about ‘vote chori’ are in fact the ones stealing the Constitution, the CM added.
“Rahul Gandhi and the Congress are trying to attack our Constitution. That is why, all the parties in the BJP-led NDA alliance — Shiv Sena, NCP, RPI (A) and others — have hit the ground. This is a fight to save the Constitution and the country’s democracy. They are trying to destroy democracy and render it orphaned,” he said.
They claim there was vote theft, they say the SIR process removed 13 crore voters, he said.
“My question to Rahul Gandhi is that of the three crore people whose names were removed, haven’t they passed away? They are no longer alive. And now Rahul Gandhi says their votes should be brought back too perhaps. He thinks living people don’t vote and only the dead will vote for him,” Fadnavis added.
False narrative is being created against the institutions created by the Constitution, according to him.
Fadnavis said everything about vote theft was a sham.
“Now that the SIR has begun, the names of the four crore Bangladeshis they had added to India’s voter lists are being removed. They will no longer have the right to vote, and that’s why they’re feeling sick. I know what they want. They want to give voting rights to Bangladeshis who have infiltrated into this country, so they can steal the Constitution, steal the mandate, and steal democracy,” he said. PTI CLS NP
