New Delhi, Oct 9 (PTI) The BJP on Friday hit back at the Congress following its attack on the Modi government over US actions affecting Indian IT professionals and accused Rahul Gandhi and his “foreign collaborators” of wanting to create anarchy in the country.

In a series of posts on X, BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the guardian of Indian interests.

“Do not forget! Rahul Gandhi openly declared in the past – ‘We are fighting the Indian state’,” Bhandari said.

“In his eagerness to come to power, Rahul Gandhi and his foreign collaborators want to create anarchy,” he charged.

“In matters of India’s national interest, Rahul Gandhi always chose to stand against it, and he willingly surrenders. Rahul Gandhi is against Indian state,” he claimed.

Bhandari also took on Congress leader Jairam Ramesh over his dig at the Modi government over the heavy security deployment ahead of the Cockroach Janata Party’s (CJP) October 10 protest against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, saying, “Do not panic. People of India are seeing through Mir Jafar Rahul Gandhi and your cabal.”

“Mr Jairam Ramesh, your attempt to create anarchy won’t succeed,” the BJP spokesperson said.

Attacking the Centre over the US government’s actions affecting Indian IT professionals, the Congress said earlier in the day that India has a number of options to retaliate but a “thoroughly compromised” PM, now under “siege” on “GyaneshGate”, will not do so.

The opposition party also said that the heavy security deployment ahead of the CJP’s protest shows the level of “panic and nervousness” after four days of unrelenting protests by the INDIA bloc. PTI PK DIV

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
