Ooty (Tamil Nadu) May 11 (PTI) Preparations are underway for the 128th annual flower show at the Government Botanical Garden here.
Flower pot arrangements commenced on Monday.
The premier horticultural event is scheduled to be held from May 16 to May 21, and the garden is currently in full bloom to welcome summer visitors.
As part of the final phase of preparations, nearly 300 staff members are engaged in arranging 50,000 flower pots across the sprawling garden premises.
These pots feature a vibrant variety of flowers, including Salvia, Phlox, Pansy, American Marigold, and Petunia, all of which are in full bloom.
Horticulture department officials stated that approximately 275 varieties of flowers, including several exotic species sourced from abroad, have been specially cultivated for this edition of the show.
In addition to the potted displays, nearly 10 lakh flower plants planted across the garden are in bloom.
The arrangement work is particularly focused on areas surrounding historic trees and gallery sections.
