Bhopal, Sep 15 (PTI) With an aim to accelerate all-round development of Madhya Pradesh, strengthen its infrastructure and speed up public welfare, the state government on Tuesday approved proposals of Rs 42,490 crore, officials said.
During a meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, approval was also granted for an outlay of Rs 36,006.22 crore to continue the centrally sponsored ‘Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan’ (Integrated Education Scheme) for the next five years, aiming to expand quality school education, they said.
In order to enhance citizen services, the continuation of 11 Transport Department schemes (worth Rs 1,166 crore) and 8 Horticulture Department schemes (worth Rs 491 crore) aimed at increasing farmers’ income was also approved by the cabinet.
The cabinet also sanctioned over Rs 2,600 crore for irrigation projects in Chitawad (Ujjain), Gaund (Singrauli), and Chanderi (Ashoknagar), which will create irrigation capacity for an area exceeding 1.27 lakh hectares.
To strengthen the administrative machinery, approval was given to create 21 new posts for establishing mineral branches in the newly formed districts of Maihar, Mauganj, and Pandhurna, as well as 36 posts for upgraded schools in Anuppur and Shahdol.
Additionally, the decision to provide an extra special assistance of Rs 250 to ‘Ladli Behnas’ (beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna scheme) on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan was ratified. PTI MAS NP
