New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed an uncharacteristically funny side Thursday after he responded to a tweet of a photo of him. The tweet, which did not tag the prime minister, captioned a photo of Modi saying, “This is becoming a meme”. Modi’s response was just as crisp and short.

The PM’s reply said: “Most welcome….enjoy :)”

Within 10 minutes of the tweet, more than 900 people had commented to, about 2,300 people retweeted and close to 8,500 people liked the post.

The photo had been tweeted by @GappistanRadio, the same account which in 2015 got a response from Donald Trump who was campaigning for the US presidential election at the time.

Responses to Modi’s tweet have been flooding in, from funny to sarcastic. People have also been commenting on the make of the sunglasses Modi was wearing, claiming they were a pair of Maybach luxury glasses worth nearly USD 2000.

The photo is from Thursday morning when the Prime Minister tried to see the solar eclipse. “I could not see the Sun due to cloud cover but I did catch glimpses of the eclipse in Kozhikode and other parts on live stream. Also enriched my knowledge on the subject by interacting with experts,” Modi later tweeted.

This isn’t the first time the PM Modi has seen a ‘meme moment’. Earlier this year, photos from his ‘Man vs Wild’ episode with Bear Grills were widely shared.
