Nanded, Jul 7 (PTI) A woman was critically injured after her husband, a history-sheeter, allegedly shot her with an illegal country-made pistol during a quarrel at Loha town in Maharashtra’s Nanded district, police said on Tuesday.
Vishal Jadhav, the accused, has been absconding since the incident around midnight on Monday and police have formed three teams to nab him, said an official.
The incident took place in Shikshak Colony area. Jadhav allegedly fired three rounds at his wife Archana Jadhav following a heated argument.
One of the bullets pierced her back. Neighbours rushed her to a hospital in Nanded, where she is undergoing treatment.
Senior police officials, including Superintendent of Police Dr Neelabh Rohan, visited the spot.
Vishal Jadhav was earlier booked in a highway petrol pump robbery case in May 2025 and was out on bail.
