Man killed after being hit by vehicle in deputy CM’s cavalcade in Jammu

Jammu, Aug 8 (PTI) A man was killed after being hit by a vehicle reportedly part of the cavalcade of Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary while the vehicles were returning after dropping the leader at his residence here on Saturday, officials said.

The deceased was identified as Bharat, a resident of Bihar, who was crossing the road when he was struck by the vehicle at Gangyal on the outskirts of the city, the officials said.

They said the victim sustained critical injuries and died while being shifted to the hospital by the vehicle’s driver and accompanying security personnel.

An FIR was registered at the concerned police station following the accident and further details are awaited, the officials said.

The vehicle was reportedly part of the deputy chief minister’s convoy that was returning to Jammu after dropping him at his destination nearby. PTI TAS APL APL
