Mumbai, Aug 12 (PTI) The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad has unearthed an inter-state drug network and seized 4.738 kg of methamphetamine valued at more than Rs 9 crore from three persons, including two female foreigners, in Mumbai and Greater Noida, an official said on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, the Kalachowki unit of the ATS intercepted a suspect near a hotel in suburban Bandra on Tuesday and recovered 2.050 kg of meth, valued at around Rs 4 crore.
His interrogation led the ATS to a drug manufacturing unit in Greater Noida, following which two foreign national women were apprehended and 2.688 kg of meth valued at around Rs 5.40 crore was recovered, the official said.
The ATS also seized materials allegedly used for manufacturing the synthetic drug and sealed the premises in Greater Noida, he added.
All three accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway, the official said.
