Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 18 (PTI) Keralam Police on Tuesday launched three technology-driven initiatives — AI Track, Integrated Beat Management System and Cyber Wall — aimed at improving road safety, policing efficiency and cybersecurity.

The three projects were launched as part of the Home Department’s initiatives under the state government’s 100-day programme, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said at a press conference here.

AI Track has been developed using artificial intelligence to help identify potential road safety risks and traffic conditions in advance and disseminate relevant information to the public in a timely manner, Chennithala said.

The system is aimed at reducing road accidents and eventually eliminating them in the long term, he said, describing it as one of the state police’s major interventions for preventing road accidents.

The Integrated Beat Management System will bring various police patrolling mechanisms onto a single digital platform, enabling faster response during emergencies and improving delivery of police services to the public, the minister said.

Cyber Wall has been developed to strengthen cybersecurity and help prevent cybercrimes amid the growing incidence of online offences.

It will function as a digital security assistant, using artificial intelligence to provide services, including cybersecurity awareness, information verification and emergency assistance, he said.

The systems were developed by technically skilled personnel of the Keralam Police, Chennithala said, adding that more than 600 police personnel have already been trained.

While mentioning the state’s anti-narcotic drive Toofan, he said the government was ready to rectify any shortcomings brought to its notice in this regard.

The three initiatives mark a significant step towards strengthening the technological capabilities of Kerala Police and ensuring safer and faster services for the public, the minister added. PTI LGK KH
