Srinagar, Oct 9 (PTI) After internet services were suspended in some parts of Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said the Kashmir model has been exported to the national capital.

“Kashmir model has been exported to Delhi. Welcome to the New Delhi, modelled on the New Jammu and Kashmir,” Abdullah said on his personal X handle.

He was referring to the reports of suspension of internet services in Central Delhi in view of the proposed protest to be held against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Saturday.

PDP leader Iltija Mufti also said what started in Kashmir is now “engulfing India”.

“Right-wing goons being allowed to enter Jantar Mantar while CJP isn’t is very much what happens in Kashmir too. Protests against the abrogation of Article 370 are always scuttled while BJP workers are given carte blanche plus full protocol and bandobast to celebrate Jammu and Kashmir’s collective humiliation on August 5, 2019. What started in Kashmir is now engulfing India,” Iltija said on X. PTI SSB RUK

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
