Bengaluru, Nov 5 (PTI) The Karnataka government has enhanced the Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees, pensioners and family pensioners from 15.75 per cent to 18 per cent, with retrospective effect from July 1, 2026.
Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara said the government has issued orders to this effect, covering employees drawing salaries under the 2024 Revised Pay Scales as well as retired government employees and family pensioners.
The enhancement is aimed at providing financial support to employees and pensioners amid rising cost of living, he said.
“Government employees are the backbone of our administration. Their dedication, professionalism and commitment are instrumental in translating our policies and programmes into meaningful outcomes for the people of Karnataka,” Parameshwara said in a post on ‘X’.
He also acknowledged the contribution of retired employees, saying they had devoted decades of their lives to public service and the progress of the state.
“At a time when the cost of living continues to rise, it is our responsibility to safeguard the financial well-being and dignity of those who serve and have served our state,” he said.
The enhancement recognises their contribution and reflects the government’s commitment to supporting employees, pensioners and their families, he added.
The government remains committed to protecting the interests of employees and pensioners and recognising their contribution to public service, the Deputy CM said. PTI KSU ADB
