Meerut (UP), Aug 7 (PTI) A Kanwariya woman returning to Ghaziabad from Haridwar gave birth to a healthy baby boy here, doctors said on Friday. The woman, Manisha, developed labour pain while her family was resting at a Kanwar service camp near the Meerut-Baghpat bypass on Thursday afternoon, a doctor said.

The camp organisers immediately called a 108 ambulance and took her to the Community Health Centre (CHC) Panchli, where she delivered the baby around 4 pm.

Manisha, a resident of Kuti Krishna Colony in Ghaziabad, travelled to Haridwar on July 31 with her husband Sonu, and their four-year-old son Vinay, to undertake the Kanwar pilgrimage and pray for the family’s well-being.

CHC Panchli in-charge Dr Vishal Agrawal said both the mother and newborn were in normal condition.

A similar incident was recently reported from Muzaffarnagar, where a seven-month pregnant woman returning to Delhi’s Bhalswa area with a Kanwar from Haridwar gave birth to twin boys at the district hospital. PTI COR CDN ASD ASD
