Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), Sep 15 (PTI) Jharkhand’s East Singhbhum district administration has taken an initiative towards a quick and transparent solution to problems faced by the public.
Under this, ‘Abua Mitra’ WhatsApp-based chatbot service was launched by Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan on Tuesday.
Ranjan told reporters that the administration launched the Abua Mitra service so that people do not have to endure the pain of visiting government offices for their work.
“We have launched the WhatsApp number 85800 90001 for this. Now citizens will be able to easily register their complaints by contacting this number from their mobile,” the DC said.
This feature has been designed to be simple and user-friendly. Residents will be able to select the language as per their convenience and provide information related to the complaint and, if required, related documents through WhatsApp.
Complaints received through WhatsApp will be linked to the Jan Sahayata JSR portal of the district administration.
“After the complaint is registered, its information will be updated on the portal and according to the nature of the complaint, it will be sent to the concerned department, office or competent authority for action. After this, the process of monitoring, follow-up and redressal of the complaint will be ensured,” the official said.
The DC said that information about the status of the complaint will be given in different phases through SMS on the registered mobile number of the citizens.
“This means that now people will not need to visit government offices again and again to know the progress of their complaint. This will also strengthen transparency in the complaint redressal process and accountability of officers,” he said. PTI ANB NN
