Ranchi, Oct 22 (PTI) Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Thursday said the state’s development can gain a new momentum by linking its natural resources and rich tribal heritage with modern knowledge and technologies.

Gangwar was speaking here at the inauguration of the ‘Swarnim Bharat Expo 2026’, a three-day exhibition showcasing India’s technological advancements and development journey.

“Jharkhand is special in terms of natural resources, rich tribal heritage, art and culture, and talented youth. By linking these capabilities with modern knowledge, technology, skills, and entrepreneurship, a new momentum can be given to the state’s development,” he said.

“I believe this expo will be especially helpful for our youth. They will get a platform to understand the opportunities available in various fields. I am confident that the event will also prove useful in providing citizens with information about various schemes and new technologies,” the governor said.

He said people of the country can take pride in India’s “remarkable progress” in several sectors including science, technology, space, healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and digital services.

“The contributions of our scientists, entrepreneurs, and various institutions are giving a new momentum to this journey of progress. True development is meaningful only when its benefits reach every section of society and every citizen gets the opportunity to move forward,” Gangwar said.

“I urge the youth to continuously develop their knowledge and skills, and work towards making discipline, self-confidence, and social responsibility a part of their lives,” he said.

The governor said “connecting the youth with education, sports, skill development, and creative activities is our collective responsibility”.

Gangwar also advised the youth to stay away from drugs.

The three-day exhibition will highlight achievements and initiatives across healthcare, scientific research, agriculture, food processing, quality standards, energy efficiency, coal and mineral resources, space technology, tribal development, women’s empowerment, handicrafts and traditional industries, the organisers said. Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
