Parts of Haryana and Punjab also received showers.
According to the local Met office, Chandigarh received a rainfall of 72.7 mm during the day.
The maximum temperature in the twin capital settled at 34.4 degrees Celsius.
In Haryana, places such as Ambala, Panchkula and Yamunanagar received showers.
