Nanded, Sept 11 (PTI) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert of moderate to heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning for Nanded district in Maharashtra for September 11 and 12.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, gusty winds of 30-40 kmph accompanied by lightning and thunder, along with light to moderate rain, are likely at isolated places in the district on Friday.
The weather is expected to intensify on September 12, with isolated areas likely to receive heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph, the weather department said.
In view of the alert, the district administration has urged citizens and all concerned agencies to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
