New Delhi: The Mumbai Police has lodged an FIR against Shiv Sena MLA (Shinde faction) Prakash Surve’s son Raj, accusing him of allegedly assaulting and kidnapping a music company chief executive officer.

The FIR names around 10 people, including Raj Surve, and Manoj Mishra, the owner of Adi Shakti Private Limited music company.

The act was caught on CCTV and occurred on Wednesday, 9 August.

The footage shows around 10 to 15 people forcefully entering the Goregaon office of Global Music Junction CEO Rajkumar Singh.

The video shows the men arguing with staff, and dragging a person along with them. The men then get into two cars and take off.

Singh, 36, was reportedly taken to MLA Prakash Surve’s office in Dahisar. In his statement to the police, Singh said he was forced at gunpoint to “write off” a business loan given to Mishra.

The local police got wind of it from Singh’s office members. Cops tracked the kidnappers’ van to Dahisar and rescued the businessman.

Singh registered an FIR with the Vanrai police, under the Kidnapping and Arms Act against Surve, Mishra and at least eight others. According to a report, no arrests have been made yet.

The incident was allegedly related to a loan of Rs 8 crore given by Singh to Manoj Mishra, which he had not returned, and wanted “settled”.

Prakash Surve, who belongs to the Eknath-Shinde led Shiv Sena faction, was called out by Shiv Sena (Udhhav Thackeray) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi in a tweet. She referred to the incident and tweeted, “Navratnas of the traitor gang.”

Shinde split the Shiv Sena last year, resulting in the collapse of the Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Shinde switched over to the BJP with his loyalist MLAs to form the current government, of which he is now the chief minister.
