Chennai, May 12 (PTI) The DMK on Tuesday slammed AIADMK’s former state minister C Ve Shanmugam for his allegations on post-poll pact talks with the AIADMK and said he was searching for a reason to “split” his own party.
Taking strong exception to his remark made earlier in the day, DMK organising secretary R S Bharati claimed that Shanmugam had decided to support Vijay-led TVK government and hence made the baseless charge on the DMK-AIADMK post- poll alliance talks.
Refuting the charge, Bharati told reporters here that DMK president M K Stalin had already stated that the Dravidian major would function as an opposition party.
“I had already said after the election results, that these are speculation and rumours. We clarified our position the very next day itself. This continues to be our stand,” Bharati added. PTI JSP JSP KH
