New Delhi, Aug 18 (PTI) Delhi recorded above-normal temperatures on Tuesday, with the maximum temperature settling at 35.4 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung, as the weather office forecast moderate rain in the city on Wednesday.

According to the India Meteorological Department, station-wise data showed that Ayanagar in south Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 34.2 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.

The maximum temperature at Safdarjung was 35.4 degrees Celsius, 1.6 degrees above normal, while Palam recorded 34.4 degrees Celsius, 0.2 degrees above normal, and Lodi Road 34.8 degrees Celsius, 1.8 degrees above normal. The Ridge did not record a maximum temperature.

The minimum temperature at Safdarjung was 27.8 degrees Celsius, 1.3 degrees above normal, while Palam recorded 25.4 degrees Celsius, 0.8 degrees below normal.

Lodi Road recorded a minimum of 27.6 degrees Celsius, 1.6 degrees above normal, the Ridge 24 degrees Celsius, 0.9 degrees below normal, and Ayanagar 27.4 degrees Celsius, 2.3 degrees above normal.

For Wednesday, the IMD has forecast a minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius, with a generally cloudy sky and moderate rain.

The air quality index in Delhi stood at 100, in the satisfactory category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
