New Delhi: A group of YouTubers “broke into” Saurav Das’ residence in south Delhi on Wednesday while he was away in Maharashtra’s Sambhaji Nagar for a Cockroach Janta Party meeting. He said they released videos from inside the house that have “activated goons”, causing a grave security threat for everyone living there.
“SOS: Certain YouTubers and media channels have broken into my house and are showing the visuals from inside. It’s not just an invasion of my privacy but also a grave security threat for me and my family,” Das wrote in a post on X.
Tagging Delhi Police, Das further wrote that if “anti-social elements” attacked him at his residence as a result of this then “these YouTubers and their troll handlers who are coordinating this will be directly responsible!”
He added, “15–20 such people descended on my house this morning. Some have been camping outside since last night. These videos have now activated goons, a grave security threat for everyone living in the house. I am currently in Maharashtra for CJP’s two-day meeting.”
Two YouTube channels by the name The Pamphlet and DelhiTak have uploaded multiple videos where their anchors can be seen walking around his residence and asking intrusive questions to his neighbours and staffers who worked at his place.
In one instance, the anchor asks Das’ housekeeper whether he knows the rent mentioned in the rental agreement. In another, the same anchor asks him which floor Das lives on and who lives with him.

Meanwhile, Deepak Sharma, an anchor with The Pamphlet, can be seen doxxing Das’ private information, showing the number plate of his residence and details of the owner of the house.
In another instance, an anchor with DelhiTak says that Das’ house rent is “high” and asks how the CJP spokesperson, who claims to come from a middle class family, affords it.
Taking cognisance of the matter, the Delhi Police reached out to Das immediately.
“We dispatched a team led by the SHO of Greater Kailash police station who took stock of the incident. We have also deployed a team to do round-the-clock monitoring of his residence,” said DCP (South) Anant Mittal.
Later, a Delhi Police vehicle stood outside Das’ residence with a few officers.
The DCP told ThePrint that no official complaint has been received from Das.
The matter drew immense attention online with TMC Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien promising that his party would raise the matter on the floor of Rajya Sabha.
In Rajya Sabha, TMC MP Rajeev Kumar said, “I just got to know that the CJP spokesperson’s house was breached by the Delhi Police. We will never get justice in this manner.”
AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “BJP has the Income Tax department; if they feel he is spending more than he earns, send him an IT notice. This is not journalism; this is hounding Gen Z leaders who raised their voice against the government. Such cheap and dirty tricks will make Gen Z hate BJP even more.”
A driver working in the neighbourhood told The Print that on Tuesday evening a Delhi Police officer came in the neighbourhood with a photo of Das. “He went around in the B Block asking if we knew him and where he exactly lived.”
ThePrint reached out to Delhi Police for a comment on this specific allegation, but there was no response. The report will be updated if and when they respond.
Ratan Shukla, a staffer in the same block, said that while he was coming to work Wednesday morning he saw a woman with a mic in front of Das’ house. “She was stopping by all the drivers and workers in the area and entering the property to ask about Das,” he said.
At Das rental property. guards, drivers and staffers stood in groups discussing what they saw since morning. “Camera persons stood outside with a photo of Das asking if we knew about his whereabouts,” said one of them.
Another exclaimed that those with cameras hounded everyone passing the street.
Later in the day, Das submitted a written complaint to Delhi Police stating that “Pamphlet_in” and “JaipurDialogues” have been constantly circulating his residential address “thereby encouraging members of the public to visit the said premises”.

“One Abhijit Iyer Mitra has repeatedly and publicly disclosed the Complainant’s residential address on social media, thereby drawing public attention to the residence and materially contributing to the continued invasion of privacy and the interference with the Complainant’s peaceful possession of the premises,” his complaint read. The complaint also mentions YouTuber Deepak Sharma, associated with the handle “Pamphlet_in”.
