Jaipur, Oct 9 (PTI) BJP OBC Morcha national president and MP Amarpal Maurya on Friday accused the Congress of prioritising family interests over national welfare and targeted opposition parties over alleged dynastic politics.

Addressing the Rajasthan BJP OBC Morcha’s state executive meeting here, Maurya criticised the Congress, Samajwadi Party and other opposition parties for promoting dynastic politics.

“Inherited power cannot shape an individual’s personality. The Congress is still more concerned about family interests than the nation’s welfare,” he said.

Maurya said the country was progressing under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, with priority being given to the welfare of the poor, deprived and backward sections.

He said Modi’s 25 years in public office had helped give India’s culture, prosperity and development a new identity on the global stage.

According to a party spokesperson, the meeting discussed strategies to publicise the welfare schemes of the central and state governments, initiatives for the upliftment of backward classes and the vision of a developed India by 2047.

Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore urged OBC Morcha workers to act as the party’s frontline force and ensure that government welfare schemes reached eligible beneficiaries.

BJP state general secretary (organisation) Ajaey Kumar said the party was working towards the upliftment of the most disadvantaged sections of society in accordance with Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s principle of Antyodaya. He also highlighted the Modi government’s decision to grant constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes. PTI AG

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
