New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokespersons Sourav Das and Ashutosh Ranka met Union Minister J.P.Nadda at his residence on Monday after waiting for more than two hours.
Das said that Nadda assured that he would speak to the government regarding their demands.
The CJP is calling for sweeping reforms to the country’s competitive examination system, resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan among others.

The meeting was after Das met Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Sachin Sharma after the group was informed of the government’s willingness to hold a dialogue.
“Ashutosh Ranka and I, on behalf of the Cockroach Janta Party are on our way to meet J.P. Nadda. The government had reached out for talks in the morning. Our demands are clear. The youth has gathered in huge number. We Shall win! (sic),” Das wrote on X.
Earlier, Ranka said on X that they were informed “government’s willingness to talk by the Delhi police but there has been no progress on this in the last 5 hours”. “Is the government trying to deliberately delay the discussions?” the CJP spokesperson posted.
According to sources in the know, the CJP had sought talks with a Cabinet minister and even submitted a list of names of ministers it was willing to meet. However, the proposal was not accepted.
Instead, CJP members were offered a meeting with the District Magistrate, a Secretary to the Union government, or a Minister of State, but they declined the offer, the sources said.
On Monday morning, thousands of CJP supporters began their march towards Parliament from Jantar Mantar despite prohibitory orders being in force. The Delhi Police said no permission had been sought or granted for the march.
The march comes two days after activist Sonam Wangchuk was removed from the Jantar Mantar protest site and taken to Safdarjung Hospital.
Meanwhile, the situation at Jantar Mantar and adjoining areas remains tense, with thousands of protesters spilling onto nearby roads, including around Connaught Place and Parliament Street. As the police stopped many from crossing the barricades, clashes broke out at several points, while protesters alleged that police resorted to lathi charge.
