Srinagar: An Army Major was killed while another officer and two troopers were injured in an encounter with militants in south Kashmir Monday, officials said.

They said the encounter took place in the Achabal area in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A Major-rank officer has been killed while another officer of the same rank and two soldiers have been injured, they said.

  1. Pakistan wants dialogue with India but also wants to continue infiltrating terrorist in to India. Some politicians and Pakistan sympathizers in India also wants to talk to Pakistan but has no guts to side with our security forces and doubt their counter action. There is hardly any politician who has their keen on frontline fighting these jihadis who kill most innocents. Why India should even have any relations with such neighbor? They have been using terrorists against India since 1989 and don’t want to change even if their citizens are suffering, economy is destroyed. Shame on Pakistan military and establishment. USA has caught them red handed many times.

  2. the time has come for our NSA to RAISE the costs for pak..as he has so famously advocated in the past..there are so many ways in which the govt can do this…our jawans and officers are not EXPENDABLE

  3. Tragic. Rest in peace. An early and complete recovery for the injured. Nowadays, whether it was the 12 IAF personnel lost in the AN 32 crash or the 5 CRPF personnel killed recently in Anantnag, even tweets offering sympathy and condolences have dried up.
