New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah was admitted to hospital late Saturday for a third time in just over a month. He was taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the national capital for “post-Covid care” less than two weeks after he was discharged from there.
Sources in the government told ThePrint Shah yet again felt “uneasy” and had “difficulties in breathing”, following which he was rushed to the medical facility for “post-Covid care”.
He was admitted at the Cardio Neuro tower in AIIMS around 11 pm, said the sources.
Shah had initially tested positive for Covid on 2 August and was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram for 12 days.
Three days after he was discharged, he complained of “uneasiness”, “fatigue” and “body ache” following which he was taken to AIIMS on 17 August. He was discharged from the hospital on 31 August, after which he resumed work from his residence.
On Saturday, despite being under the watch of specialists, Shah was again taken to AIIMS for “better care”, the sources said.
While AIIMS has issued a press release regarding Shah’s condition, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is yet to make an official statement.
The AIIMS statement said, “Shri Amit Shah, Hon’ble Home Minister was discharged from AIIMS, New Delhi after post Covid care on August 30th. As per advise given at discharge, he has now been admitted for complete medical checkup before parliament session for 1-2 days.”
ThePrint tried to reach Amit Shah’s office and the MHA via text messages for a comment, but there was no response.

According to a source, Shah was taken to the hospital again as his family wanted to minimise any risk to his health.
When Shah was admitted to AIIMS last month, it was his family that suggested that he quarantined at the hospital under the watch of doctors for some more time.
The source said that since Shah was discharged earlier and had felt uneasy after he returned home, the family did not want to take any risk. The senior BJP leader suffers from diabetes — a Covid comorbidity.
According to a second source, Shah tested negative for the novel coronavirus twice in one week when he was admitted to AIIMS last month.
Earlier, sources had told ThePrint that Shah was just quarantining himself at the hospital and was not on oxygen support. He had been looking at files, signing papers and sending them back from the hospital itself, sources had confirmed.

He has a record for fake encounter, making a mess in india with CAA-NRC, and getting China to kick India. People tell me he is a Jain, but he is worse than the worst Hindu.
