New Delhi: A special session of Parliament would be held from 18 to 22 September, the government announced Thursday, without detailing the agenda.

Union Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi posted on X that there would be five sittings of the special session.

“Amid Amrit Kaal looking forward to have fruitful discussions and debate in Parliament,” Joshi wrote.

It was not immediately clear whether the session would be a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, though the post mentioned it would be the 13th session of the 17th Lok Sabha and the 261st session of the Upper House.

The announcement came on a day the Opposition’s 28-party INDIA bloc gathered in Mumbai to hold its third meeting and discuss a firmed-up electoral strategy for the general elections in 2024.
