Ballabhgarh: After lots of chaos and disruption in the Mahapanchayat held in Ballabhgarh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sumer Singh on Saturday said action would be taken against the organisers as no permission was taken for the event.

People from 36 communities (Biradari) took part in the Mahapanchayat held today seeking justice in the Nikita Tomar murder case. The several hundred people who were present at the event demanded capital punishment for the accused. Many of the youths participating in the event turned aggressive and tried to block the Mathura highway. They also raised slogans against the police.

Several policemen, along with paramilitary forces, had been deployed to control the situation. The forces had to resort to baton charge and also detained several protestors.
Meanwhile, after the chaos, the community leaders have decided to reassemble on November 8 to pay tributes to the deceased and decide the future course of action.

Earlier today, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the state government will look into the ‘love jihad’ angle in the murder of the commerce student who was shot dead in broad daylight in Faridabad.

“Since Ballabgarh woman killing case is being linked with ‘love jihad,’ Centre as well as state government is looking into it, and considering legal provisions so that guilty is not able to escape, and no innocent person is punished,” the Chief Minister said.
Khattar on Friday said that the trial against the accused in Ballabgarh student murder case will be held in a fast-track court.

“The victim’s family is satisfied with the Haryana government’s action. Culprits were nabbed within two hours of the incident and one who helped them was also arrested. Fast track court would be established in this case for giving strict punishment to culprits,” Khattar told reporters here.

Virender Gaur, head of the coordination committee of ‘Justice for Nikita’ campaign while talking to ANI said, “We discussed many issues today, we want capital punishment against culprits, we want the trials to be conducted at a fast track court, we also want a law to be passed to control love Jihad incidents.”

Meanwhile, prime accused Touseef’s accomplice Rehan was sent to 14 days of judicial custody.

Three persons have been arrested in the case so far. The man who allegedly provided country-made pistol to Touseef has also been nabbed.

The final year commerce student was shot dead on Monday afternoon outside her college in Ballabgarh, where she had gone to take an exam. The 21-year-old was rushed to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

  1. The woke journalists of The Print like Ms. Shubhangi Misra, Ms. Jyoti Yadav, Mr. Shivam Vij have got nothing to say or write on the tragic death of Ms. Nikita Tomar. Or on the lynching of the 18 year old DU student Ankit Saxena.
But these very same woke journos write reams and reams on the Tanishq ad, Sirf Excel ad and how evil the Hindutva brigade is.
