New Delhi: “Today’s hat-trick has given the guarantee of a hat-trick in 2024,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) headquarters in the national capital. The PM was addressing a large crowd of BJP supporters after the party’s victory in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan Sunday.
While the party retained power in MP, it wrested the other two states from the Congress, which only won one state — Telangana.
Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters, Modi called Sunday’s victory “historic and unprecedented”. The BJP, he said, “doesn’t just make empty promises, rather it ensures delivery and performance”.
“Voters of India know what’s a selfish pursuit, and what works for the betterment of the nation,” he told supporters. “Today’s hat-trick has given the guarantee of a hat-trick in 2024.”
As the BJP celebrated its recent electoral success, the atmosphere was filled with joy and enthusiasm, reminiscent of the lights, smiles, and confetti that marked previous victories.
Hitting out at the Opposition INDIA bloc, he said that the results were a “lesson” to the alliance.
“The coming together of various parties who indulge in dynasty politics under the ghamandiya gathbandhan can help them paint a good picture (by being on the stage together) but it will never get them the trust of the people,” he said.
