New Delhi: A daylight robbery has targeted the top of the governance system in Pakistan — literally. Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi’s handmade ajrak cap was mugged from the top of his head in Sukkur, barely minutes after it was gifted to him.
The incident took place at the Rohri railway station where the Governor had come for an official engagement. The Deputy Commissioner of Rohri, Shehzad Khan, and the Rohri SSP, Asghar Khan, gave him the Sindhi cap as a gift. Ironically, the Governor was completely oblivious that his cap was gone.
Pakistanis are beyond amused. “It is a good thing someone did not take his shalwar,” a Pakistani Facebook user, Mohammad Owais, wrote.
Another chose the moment to point out the massive governance failure. “Jinse apni topi sambhaali nh jarhi unko Karachi sambhaalne k liye rakha hua hai (those who can’t even handle their own cap have been tasked with administrating Karachi),” another user, Sameer Sam, commented.
A TikTok user compared the Governor to a dead body and said, “Governor nahi laash”.
