ISI recommended barring Pashtun human rights activist from leaving the country
Interior ministry of Pakistan has put Pashtun human rights activist Gulalai Ismail on the Exit Control List (ECL) after being recommended to do so by the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), reported Dawn. ECL is an ordinance that prohibits an individual from leaving Pakistan.
While hearing Ismail’s petition seeking removal of her name from the ECL list Tuesday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) was informed by a government attorney general about ISI’s recommendation.
Ismail’s counsel, however, argued that even though her name is not mentioned in the FIR registered against some Pashtun activists who were arrested for staging “anti-state activities” at a rally in August, she was still detained and all her travel documents including passport were confiscated upon arrival from United Kingdom on 12 October.
Pakistan Airlines’ first female pilot from Kashmir says it is her dream job
Pakistan International Airlines’s (PIA) first Kashmiri female pilot Maryam Mujtaba in a video on PIA twitter handle said that if given a chance, she will start living in an aeroplane.
In a video posted Wednesday, Mujtaba said that it was her dream since childhood to become a pilot, adding that once her parents learnt about her dream, they always encouraged her to pursue it.
When asked about a thing she always carry with her while traveling, First Officer of PIA said, “It has to be the Holy Quran, I always take it along with me on trips.”

Pakistani veteran actress Roohi Bano goes missing
Veteran Pakistani actor and winner of ‘Lux Style Unilever Chairman’s Lifetime Achievement Award’ Roohi Bano has been reported missing.
According to a report by The Nation, Bano was suffering from schizophrenia for a long time. She could not be found either at the Fountain House, Lahore Mental Health Institute, where she was seeking treatment or at her house in Gulberg area of the metropolis. Bano was a presidential award-winning actress; she suffered several problems throughout her life. She had issues in her marital life and her only son was murdered.
Malala writes loving message for her father on the publishing of his biography
Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai extended her support to her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, on the publishing of his biography Let Her Fly, reported The News.
Expressing love for her father on Twitter, Malala wrote, “Always proud of my father @ZiauddinY, but today I’m especially so. His new book “Let Her Fly” is available now”.
Yousafzai also tweeted saying, “Let Her Fly is out today. I wrote this book to show how change can begin with you and your family. I hope readers will enjoy it and can learn from my journey.”

Imran Khan hails China visit, will visit Malaysia in a few weeks
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan Thursday told the federal cabinet that his China visit turned out to be “more successful than expected” and that the all-weather friend has “assured” their country of “every kind of assistance”, reported Dawn.
Imran Khan was in China between 1 November and 5 November and held high-level talks with Chinese officials including Xi Jinping, the country’s President.
However, according to a report by The Express Tribune, Khan also mentioned during the cabinet meeting that China has not allowed the Pakistan government from disclosing the amount of the financial aid it has apparently been offered due to Beijing’s regional concerns. The report also mentioned that the Prime Minister had said during the meeting that “China has given an aid package like never before”.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan will be visiting Malaysia in the third week of November where he is set to engage with his Malaysian counterpart Mahathir Mohamad, The Express Tribune reported.
Federal ministers debarred from seeking medical treatment abroad on state expenses
Prime Minister Imran Khan Thursday has banned federal ministers from seeking medical treatment abroad on state expenses, reported The News International.
In a federal meeting held Thursday, it was declared that the ban would be extended and now applicable to senior officials, advisers and federal secretaries also.
A notification was issued soon after Imran Khan gave his directives during the cabinet meeting.
