New Delhi: Salman Khan might have a new show in mind, and it is called ‘Every Koffee With Salman’. Khan made the joke as he sat down in Karan Johar’s chair in the new promo for the final season of Koffee With Karan.

“After Koffee With Karan, Every Coffee With Salman,” he says.

The promo, released on Tuesday, opens with Johar introducing Khan as the guest for the first episode of the final season.

“A wise man once said, ‘It’s done, bro.’ So who better to kick off my final season than the man himself, Salman Khan,” Johar says, introducing Khan.

Khan wonders whether the final season is really all that final.

“Isn’t it that by saying it’s the last season, you’ve got all of us to do Koffee With Karan?” he says.

“I promise you I’m not coming back,” Johar replies, to which Khan quotes a line from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998): “Karan, tussi na jao (Please don’t go).”

The first episode will premiere on Wednesday, marking the first time Khan has appeared on the show alone. The actor previously appeared with his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, in the Season 4 premiere episode. He later returned in Season 5, Episode 6, which was planned around the show’s 100th-episode milestone. On that occasion, Khan was joined by his brothers Sohail and Arbaaz.

‘Time to follow my own advice’

In the promo video, Johar also asks Khan about the change in his personality, as he seems more composed.

“All the advice that I’ve given, there has come a time for me to follow my own advice,” Khan replies.

The conversation then turns to trolling and paparazzi culture.

“If I ever meet the person who put a camera on a phone…” Khan jokes.

Johar started Koffee With Karan in 2004, and the show has now completed eight seasons over two decades. It has become one of the longest-running celebrity talk shows on Indian television, largely built around Bollywood conversations, personal revelations, rapid-fire rounds and Johar’s trademark style of questioning.

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
