The film is scheduled to release on 4 December 2026.

Eetha

Directed by Laxman Utekar, who previously made Chhaava, Eetha is a biographical drama inspired by the life of Vithabai Narayangaonkar, a celebrated Marathi Tamasha and Lavani performer.

Shraddha Kapoor plays the lead role, with Randeep Hooda, Anant Joshi and Patekar also starring in the film.

The film traces Vithabai’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of Maharashtra’s most celebrated folk theatre artists. It is scheduled for release on 4 December 2026.

The Confession of Mary

Patekar’s The Confession of Mary is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Ananth Narayan Mahadevan, the film is based on the 1966 murder of Mariyakkutty, a Catholic woman whose death led to a priest being accused and sentenced to death. He was later acquitted and released.

The film also stars Adil Hussain, Ashish Vidyarthi, Gautam Rode, Joy Sengupta, Neha Mahajan, Pankhuri Awasthi and Meenakshi Martins.

Kuku Ki Kundali

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
