New Delhi: Modiji in a club in Thailand, will wonders never cease? Visuals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s likeness could be seen at the Janaat club in Thailand’s Pattaya.

Janaat is one of the biggest Indian-only clubs in the coastal city. Located on Walking Street, it is a luxurious party space, boasting a rooftop sky bar and pool. The club claims to bring the energetic nightlife of Mumbai to Thailand, with live dancers and Bollywood and Punjabi music blasting through the speakers.

On the Instagram page for the club, Indians can be seen dancing to the steps of a Salman Khan song or rapping alongside Badshah. In one such video, an image of PM Modi was displayed while a snippet from one of his speeches played along with the music.

The clip quickly went viral; commentators varied from sighting Modi in a club as “hilarious,” while others said it was disrespectful and “embarrassing.”

“This is the aura of my prime minister,” read one comment.

“What kind of dystopia is this?” asked another.

Highlighting the recent uptick in Thailand visas, one commentator said, “This is why we Indians are not allowed in any club there now.”

Instagram page, Brief.in, shared the clip, adding that some called it “the unique tribute.”
