New Delhi: Baba Ramdev on Saturday announced that the Patanjali Group will soon launch a Civil Services Academy to prepare students for the UPSC examination. Popular teacher and former AAP leader Awadh Ojha will manage this segment for the Patanjali Group.

“At Patanjali Yog Peeth, the Patanjali Civil Service Academy is being launched. It will be led by Awadh Ojha ji, who has trained lakhs of students for the civil services, and more than 1,000 of them have gone on to become IAS and IPS officers, serving the nation. Students pursuing their MA here will have to pay less than 1 lakh rupees, while those coming from outside to study here will be charged 2.5 lakh rupees,” said Baba Ramdev in Haridwar, at the Patanjali Yogpeeth campus, during an event.

Ojha is known for his UPSC history classes and massive online following. He also joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in 2024 and contested the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections from Patparganj, where he lost by over 21,000 votes. He has built his reputation teaching at top Delhi coaching institutes and running his own IAS academy in Pune.

“Your children will be in a very positive environment here. There will be no compromise on the standard of education. The best teachers from Delhi will be available here to teach your children,” Ojha said at the event.

According to the poster announcing the launch, the academy will offer a two-year residential programme to provide coaching for UPSC and State Public Service Commission examinations. Besides coaching and hostel facilities, the programme will also provide meditation and personality development classes. Registration for the entrance examination is now open till 14 July.

With this move, Patanjali is expanding beyond Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) to education. The group has also set up schools and a university campus in Haridwar. The Patanjali campus too is near Haridwar, and its academy will train hundreds of aspirants every year.

“Students who fail to clear the examination after training at coaching centres in Delhi and elsewhere are often left directionless. However, students of Patanjali IAS Academy will make both their families and the nation proud,” Ramdev asserted in Haridwar.

Aspirants who are already enrolled in the Patanjali University will have to pay less than Rs 1 lakh at the IAS coaching facility. For other students the tuition fee will be around Rs 2.5 lakh. The academy also plans to offer scholarships for meritorious students ranging from 80 to 100 per cent.

While the group has earned recognition for its Ayurvedic and indigenous products, it is now expanding into the education sector. Currently, the group provides master’s degrees, undergraduate programmes, diploma and certificate courses, and doctoral programmes through the University of Patanjali.
