New Delhi: Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer for The Greatest, an upcoming biographical series on boxing legend Muhammad Ali. Starring Jaalen Best as the legendary boxer, the eight-episode series will trace Ali’s journey from a young Cassius Clay in Louisville, Kentucky, to one of the most influential sporting figures in history.
The series will premiere on 4 November 2026, with all eight episodes releasing on the same day. It is the first authorised scripted series about Ali’s life, with his widow, Lonnie Ali, serving as an executive producer.
From Cassius Clay to Muhammad Ali
Created by Ben Watkins, The Greatest explores the personal, professional and political battles that shaped Ali’s life. Set against the backdrop of a changing America, the series traces his transformation from Cassius Clay into Muhammad Ali.
The narrative covers the defining early years of his career, from his gold medal victory at the 1960 Rome Olympics to his 1964 world heavyweight championship win against Sonny Liston. That same year, he announced his conversion to Islam and adopted the name Muhammad Ali.
The series looks beyond the boxing ring, exploring Ali’s relationships with his family and his experiences as a son, brother, husband, and father.
The trailer also points to the political forces that shaped Ali’s life, including his association with civil rights leader Malcolm X.
