If India thinks it's caught in an awful two-front situation, the picture is more challenging for Pakistan. It can continue fighting India and become a colony of China.
The world has expectations from India and complains when those aren’t met. If global praise is acceptable to Modi govt, why the resentment and rejection over criticism?
We can complain about undermining of institutions, misuse of agencies, discriminatory laws, use of sedition, rail-roading of legislations. But, on all key issues, Congress is MIA.
Judiciary is responsible for ensuring our liberty, and habeas corpus is the usual route. But magistrates are acting as if the rule is ‘jail, and bail is above my pay grade’.
India must break out of strategic triangulation with China & Pakistan. Before that, it must decide if it’ll let domestic electoral interests limit its strategic options.
Along with farm laws, Modi govt has passed labour reforms & promised to privatise major companies. This has led to an economic Right-Left divide, and that’s a good thing.
This crisis requires political sophistication & governance skills, Modi-Shah BJP has neither. It would be nuts to reopen an issue in Punjab that was closed and buried by 1993.
Uttar Pradesh under Yogi has seen little change for the better. But Modi and Shah will now need him if they want to win UP again in 2022 and India in 2024.
Farm reform could’ve been high point of Modi’s second term. But lack of patience, understanding and contempt for history have turned it into a disaster.
Punjab, once India’s richest state, has slipped and fallen behind. MSP and subsidies should continue, but it needs to rediscover its entrepreneurial impulse.
Under this model, battery is provided to EV owners on a subscription basis or lease. With more people open to buying EV cars, the lower upfront cost could likely drive wider acceptance.
The armoured platform is India's first amphibious infantry combat wheeled vehicle. Last year, the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces had procured 90 military trucks from the Tata Group.
How come Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey and Sri Lanka remain constitutional, democratic and stable despite Islam and Buddhism respectively, but Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar don’t?
There had been a great history to our neighbouring country where the military captured the government when the latter took decisions that would complex or badly affect the former. But it has been these many year i think since 2017 there had been capture of their government by military. So either the government would have taken hold of their military or vice versa.
The former would be a good thing for india(but at the same time pak citizens were made more interested towards indian media esp republic channels, etc. You could find comments in youtube by pak citizens. Making them feel indian media is full of conspiracy, propoganda and every news is false. Some of them were made in such a way that even if republic tv says Pakistan pm is imran khan. The pak viewers were made to conform that imran is not pm of pak. Using it as a fact check ). The criticism of indian media by foreign agencies were highlighted. Pigeon capture story which many Indians dont know that it happend it was a breaking news in pak and criticism of news coverage is another big breaking news.
If similiar incident happens in pak a pigeon tied with a ring on which phone number was written and then pigeon was released and lost its route went to Pakistan landed in a village what would they do they would hand it over to their army and news wouldnt have been covered but this was not sure as everyone have gadgets in their hands just take a video and share it in social media platforms. And their channels woulf have also telecasted the news giving descriptive about the pigeon. Had the foreign media which criticize indian media criticize the Pakistani one.??
Are you sure that air balloons containing air were released into territory of india without any bacterial spores???
Are you sure the empty envelopes that government offices get everyday are free of spores of bacteria??
Dont say me i am an overthinker.
It happend in USA and bacterial spores can be collected easily.
The pak media highlighted the news where their minister wished for success of kejriwal in elections and did it highlight the news where kejriwal gave a wise slamming reply to that minister and pm of pak??
So is pak media following the principles of true journalism and is not under hands of government??
Is every anti- biased media or journalism a true journalism??
If so yes, the american leaders of world war 2 condemned germans act of jewish genocide. So it must be very caring for life of humans. LOL the same leaders ordered to drop not one two nuclear bombs on japan.(anti genocidal = human caring??).
Absolutely correct brother. Otherwise they don’t write this one-sided story. The print is not qualified for giving news. It is just a marketer of zihadi terrorists.
Any body, who has heard current Pakistani NSA, Moeed Yusuf, since last so many years on Pakistani TV shows, knew that, as he has been inducted in the slot of NSA, Pakistani will change their stance. Things were falling in their places, for discerning eyes. China stopped CPEC loans, Pakistan stopped taking those loans on high interest. Chinese workers’ belligerence on the streets of Pakistan , was very uncomforting. Sky rocketing inflation and paucity of everything of daily necessity, the way Qamar Cheema and Arzoo Kazmi were allowed to criticize their own people, were indications enough to direct towards changed Pakistani thinking.
It is very easy to criticise and disagree with views presented in the article. Those who criticise prefer the status quo to continue. In the meanwhile, the consequences of such status quoism can impinge upon India too. Pakistan becomes a vassal of China, an outcome that would be secretly or openly rejoiced by many Indians. But after Pakistan is finished who could be China’s next target? In the fag end of 18th century, the British defeated Tipu Sultan. Nizam and Marathas rejoiced and collaborated with the British. In the next decade both Nizam and Marathas were subjugated by the British. So, while distrusting Pakistan, we shouldn’t reject everything that it says. If we can develop a divide between Pakistan and China, we can use it to our advantage. There is no harm in trying. If nothing happens, status quo continues. Our attitude towards Pakistan is torn between two extremes: ‘ Khandani Dushman’ or ‘ Brother lost in Mela’. Hope that we show some maturity and deftly handle the situation. Obviously, no matter what we stand we take, caution and skepticism shouldn’t be discarded at any point of time. It is a tight rope walking, but India also has very limited options.
Wake up. It’s morning. Banish your sickening dreams.
That is certainly a weird way of saying that you can’t think logically
Very well said. I am also a history buff and want the present government to learn some lessons from the British conquest of India.
Bombard LOC, send some of our Deobandis to cause havoc there. Let us see if they still want peace in 30 years!!!! You do not have to Bomb them to Stone age, you can ensure they do not economically develop to stone age!!!! All we need to do is block their economic development, ensure there is chaos by funding forces inimical to their interests. Give it a few decades they will just disintegrate into their parts!!! You do not get away with 7 decades of terrorism so easily. There ought to be tough lessons taught and learnt.
Pakis needed to be watched first past says that that they should not be trusted .they have history of back stabbing.they should be brought to knees economically then broken into parts before agreeing to their proposal of fake peace.
Dream on – Pakistan is not going to disintegrate! The % of Baluch population is very small even in Baluchistan and even among them the people who are making trouble is very small. The Sindhi movement- even if you can all it that – is even smaller. As far as economy is concerned – while the government is not good at managing it, the private sector in Pakistan is vibrant. Peace or not – we will be fine and you are NOT getting POK back.
Well, we should also bury the past and create a new beginning. War and rivalry just gives birth to darkness and death. If India and Pakistan makes peace. Then, the future will be better. But, if Modi ji keeps the past alive. It will not make anything better no worse. What I think is something’s better than nothing. And 2 nations can help themselves hand in hand. Apparently, China made some bad decisions and made situations with India that no one appreciates. If Pakistan joins allies with us. Maybe, China will be suppressed for a good amount of time and in that time we can develop ourselves. No offense, but Modi ji is a bit of an arrogant figue.
Not agree with you.First time any PM SHOWS NATIONAL INTEREST TOP PRIORITY
It is sad that years and years of history haven’t taught us Indians our lessons. Despite all that they have done to us, there are armchair intellectuals in India pining to embrace Pakistan. Of course, they’ll react quite differently if someone were to accidentally even step on their toe. It’s true…. literacy doesn’t mean education.
I too agree with many not to trust Pakistan. Only way to move forward is for Pakistan to take action against all the perpetrators of the terrorist attacks against India because it will show other future terrorists that terrorism is not worthwhile. It is also in a way Pakistan is admitting that they were wrong and future generations of Pakistanis and Pakistani politician won’t have anti-India rant and in turn hopefully making peace lasting. So for true peace Pakistan has to act strongly against Hafiz Sayeed, Massod Azar, Dawood Ibrahim, Sayed Salahudhin, Sajid Amir, Lakhvi, Chotta Shakeel, Annes Ibrahim. It would be even better if they handover few or all of them to us. But i would prefer instead of handing over the terrorists i would rather they first return to us Kulbhushan Jadhav. It would be a great boost to our forces and importantly India protected our great braves.

Dear Shekharji, like you said Distrust but verify, I think we (India) should be ok to play this charade for as long as it lasts, but at the same time not stop doing what we need to do, that is strengthen defence, LOC, counter infiltration ops and most importantly our economy. Every now and then leadership in Pakistan whether it is Rawalpindi or Islamabad depending on who has more leverage on whom, have an epiphany and realize that it is in the best interest of Pakistan (I mean the Pakistani people) to have peace with India. As you rightly pointed out, Bajwa sees the troubles on all fronts in Pakistan and realizes the need for some breathing space. While all governments in India even the BJP governments have initiated/tried to have peace, it has never worked and never will. I am not a skeptic and against peace but we have to be realistic. As I have said in my earlier comment, peace is possible only when some form of true democracy rises in Pakistan. As long it is run by Miltablishment it cannot be achieved. You see, it is not in hands of Bajwa, every time a General has tried to do same, he will eventually get sidelined. Core commanders will never allow it. They can allow a term extension, but how can they allow the core philosophy to be subverted, which is the basis of their entire power and control? Everyone in Rawalpindi wants their kids to be in west, why only few elites should get what they want, so the organization that is Pak Military will continue to strive, it has become an Conglomerate, a behemoth, and why will the people who run it ever dismantle it. India is just a bogey. If Bajwa continues on this path, don’t be surprised that in next few months Mitalblishment will find a way to scuttle it through some action in India and then we will respond and everything will be back to square.
I give North Korea a better chance of turning a new leaf because atleast it is controlled by one family, you can deal with one family. With Pakistan, it is an Institution that you are up against, which has strived and only grown stronger in last 70 years, why will they allow it’s weakening from within? As for peace, jab tak chalna hai chalne doh!! No harm in that, but it will be stupidity on our part to believe in any long term normalcy or restore trade or aman ki asha!!
Indian history remind us about peàce happened in past in this region only under true Muslim rulers and remember history repeat itself. No country surrenders it’s strategic area on just dialogue s. Did China captured ladhak by making peace dialogues? It’s never be the case in this real world. Bajwa spoke out Biden administration statement. Peace will only prevail under true Muslim rulers for this reason its nature’s will for the final battle between two nuclear powers. Whatever statement by current Pak administration about peàce dialogue with current Indian rulers will only for their own satisfaction it is nothing to do with nature’s will. All true Muslims belonging to any country are standing with Allah and Muhammad ﷺ Will for Ghazwa e Hind specially people of Pakistan and people of Turkey. No matter what force they big powers use, they can never have the ability to stand against Allah and Muhammad ﷺ Will.
Lol. Allah don’t exist and Mohammad died centuries back.
Actually….what did this guy Finally say???
Brain Washed Muslim. India still holds Ladakh
U will be rusted out by the thought of gazwa e hind , madrasa, Allah…nd u Know nothing other than that ?just enjoy ur rogue culture Islam and terrorism nd do halala….
Another reason why we should isolate ourselves from Pakistan
It’s better to nuke the entire Indian subcontinent and make it uninhabitable than return to the islamofascist rule
That looks offensive. Please respect journalists.
It is an opinion article so this may not be acceptable to someone some may feel it good. But please dont use such kind of words sir.
Narrative in both directions need to change which is responsible for creating a hostel relations. Pakistan is more responsible for this than India.
With population of 40 crore Islamist Jehadis with little or no skills except interpretation of Islam and most of west tightly regulating borders general is playing smart trick, they cannot fight India using military on borders once inside india using soft borders politics will save them..Every time these Indian oldies start looking for emotional bonds with Pakis no wonder you have so many stabs on your ass, plz move on and ignore them till they bury Islam in Arabian sea..
You need to know that ruling class is never religious, Pakistan’s elite are atheists and agnostics,
Ruling class always uses religion to fulfill their political agendas, just like BJP is doing in India..
War won’t serve any purpose. It’s not in anybody’s interest, to go to war. True if two India and Pakistan come to terms with each other; the region will prosper for better.
War won’t serve any ‘fruitful’ purpose. It’s not in anybody’s interest, to go to war. (Read India, China and Pakistan). True if two India and Pakistan come to terms with each other; the region will prosper for better. Pakistan should stop ISI activities in India. It has bleeded India far too long. This intention and action on ground will serve the purpose of peaceful coexistence. Any kind of rhetoric from both sides will prolong the process…
Read the history of previous peace initiatives offered by India. These were internally sabotaged by Pakistani Army previously. They can do it now even. They are after, lifting loan sanctions and getting out of FATF grey list. Peace with India us not in Pakistani mind. So do not take the Pakistani word seriously.
When I like the dish, do not enter the kitchen to check how it was rustled up. 2. Peace – not friendship, perhaps not in our lifetimes – between India and Pakistan is something both countries desperately need. Covid has pushed 75 million Indians into poverty, shrunk the middle class – much smaller than McKinsey reports routinely extol – by 32 million people. Before the pandemic, household consumption had begun to contract, a decades old trend of falling poverty had begun to reverse ominously. Children are stunted, government schools lack toilets and drinking water. Pakistan, once ahead of India, has joined us in trailing Bangladesh. 3. One does not have to be the statesman – soldier General V P Malik is to recognise that no change in the borders can be effected by force. Or how a conventional conflict could spiral into something far worse. Recall the nuclear mobilisation to speed up the release of a captured pilot. 4. This entire war like mood that was rustled up for political advantage will have to be tempered. Gaurav Sawant could trade in his flak jacket for a chef’s apron, do a cookery show, the first episode featuring spicy Kolhapuri mutton curry. 5. One is not sure where China figures in this changed situation. Ladakh too was a watershed moment that could have gone either way. 6. With so many startling initiatives not having worked out well – Demonetisation at the top of the list – unclear if opacity in decision making should any longer be seen as a great virtue. All Indians have a stake in war and peace. So maybe next time I should enter the kitchen and check with senior maid Lalita how the chicken turned out so divine.
I will sue for peace if that will save me from your moronic blabberings! You are prime candidate for those email scams promising a fortune from a deceased African dictator.
Naive, stupid and always craving for taalis — that’s how your comments are always.
Thank you. This makes it Comment # 100, the only century I can hope to score, not having held a cricket bat in my life.
Pakistan is desperate to talk due to FATF and it’s economic condition . They know there are enough pseudoliberals in Bharat with a soft corner towards Pakistan . It’s always better to negotiate with us than China or any other country in world because of Mir Jaffers of our country . We Sud never talk to them unless some concrete actions are taken by them . For example – dismantling the Jihadi infrastructure , handing over the accused of Mumbai,Uri,Pathankot and Pulwama attacks .
Pre partition muslim league ask British just give us land to balance out feet Rest we will snatch from Hindustan . After pakistan their slogan was Hans Hans ke liye he pakistan laad laad ke lenghe Hindustan . Pakistani PM after signing Shimla Agreement , where he promised to solve all disputes peacefully we t back to pakistan & declared 1000 yrs war with India. In pakistan parliament it’s leaders declared we will eat grass but will build nuclear weapons.
Thanks to British stooges congress & MK Gandhi that their dream is coming true!! They along with voters of Pakistan were the brown British slaves par excellence!!
This article could have written in any time in the last 25 years with the names changed to the relevant generals. Nothing is going to come out of it. SG is really confused whether to sound too optimistic or realistic. He starts with the disclaimer about these sorts of utterances having come before but suddenly goes on (at length) about Modi’s thought process about Pakistan and war in general. Why should Modi change his opinion that Pakistan is not a state to be trusted and India gains almost nothing from Pakistan. We will go about our business as a country while handling terrorism sponsored by Pakistan. Why would Modi rock the boat? Why would he want take the risk of talking with Pakistan, only to get another terrorist attack? Why would he want to hear from the same SG types who would blame the government, “intelligence failure”, “naivete” , “being unprepared” while this no-war, no-peace stance is working perfectly well for him. I want to see for once an article in the mainstream media that discusses foreign policy without psycho-analyzing the leadership. Every article talks with absolute certitude about “Modi has realized this”, “Modi has realized that” without offering evidence. It is all in the authors’ mind.
In this case the past is a guide to the future. There is no point in wasting tax payers money on talking to Pakistan. Just because the author can think only binaries, doesn’t mean there are no other choices. India doesn’t have to either be talking or bombing Pakistan. There is an option of indifference whilst guarding our borders. No need to talk but no need for snipers or artillery firing as well. More important to beef up our intelligence and not get caught unawares like ,26/11 or Uri, Pathankot, Pulwama, Kargil etc. Let Pakistan stew in it’s own juice as it makes it’s own choices. No need for enemity or bonhomie. Just guard India’s borders and internal security.
SG, 90% of Indian media like congressi @The Print are really sick pseudo seculars inspired by the moron MK Gandhi!! They have been spilling Hindu blood since decades & created a terrorist nation next door while keeping Paki voters/traitors in India!! Their moronic,, unsustainable secularism has to end!!
So the print knows more about Pakistan.. A Child knows more about their father?
We all know how the peace process ended for Vajpayee and MMS. They were rewarded with a parliament attack and 26/11. Also, it’s not like Modi did try to attempt peace. Modi had a cordial relationship with Nawaz Sharif but the Pak Army got rid of him. Pak Army uses the “India” boogeyman to collect extortion money from its citizen. They would never give up their feud with India esp now that they think they have Afghanistan back in their control.
Absolutely correct!! All Anti Hindu & anti India sold out congressi media must be shown the door to their mother land Pakistan!!
The devastated Germany rebuilding after the WWII realised that was the peace with neighbours was the only way forward despite being beaten into submission. Once the USSR control started diminishing the East German also fell in line.
Pakistan is a different story with the Islamisation and Chinese support. Even so the population pressure must be more to get out of this mess in the name of India, is something that the rulers cannot ignore the fatigue in the population must be very obvious.
The 5th Aug is not selling anymore in Pakistan. Any logic will supports peace between the two neighbours. But how much we can trust PAkistan will always remain the question.
New Generations in both Pakistan and India – do not like wars.
Ultimately in another fifty years, the peace loving citizens on both sides would end wars and create new friendship and cooperation.
That is sure to happen.
The elders only hanging on religions.
For youngesters – the religion is not so important when compared with their jobs, professional groeth, and mental peace.
Next generations would realize the truth that religions are not created to fight one another. It is created TO UNITE AND SHOW LOVE TO FELLOW HUMANS.
Ha!! Ha!! Who created Pakistan and divided India?? Were those Sikhs or Hindus??!!
The leaders are making sure to inject venom into younger generations, so its a slippery slope, in the urban youth religion is on a decline so its a good sign…
We’ll see what the future will hold in next 20 years,
I think India is walking on the same trajectory as that of US,
Religious Extremism in India will automatically decrease when the population literacy improves…

Pakistan doesn’t want peace with India.
Best course of action for India –
1. Don’t talk to Pakistan, not now not ever.
2. Let their actors visit India and work in Indian movies.
3. Don’t reinstate cricketing ties (as playing cricket with them helps PCB economically).
4. Keep our boots on their neck – meaning any shenanigan from their part and make sure they pay heavy price militarily.
5. Make sure they remain economically weak.
6. Try to see that Sindhustan/Sindhudesh, Balochistan, and Pakhtunistan are getting independence from Punjabistan.
the only possible solution is to accept the status quo as final settlement and legalize LOC. this may be more acceptable to indians. we must try to build a consensus around this solution. but the problem is congress will veto it if bjp proposes it and vice versa. at the same time giving up kashmir after 75 years is not a luxury that we can afford .
as far as pakistanis are concerned, they are fed on the slogan”kashmir banega pakistan” for so many years. so for them to accept the status quo may be a huge climbdown. moreover pakistani army has thrived on anti india sentiments. do they have a statesman like leadership to give up its pre eminent role in the country? very unlikely.
so, back to square one.
We ahould consider the offer only if he returns Kulbhushan Jadhav, hands over Dawood,Saeed to prove his sincerity.
Compering Nehru’s action at that time and Modi’s inaction is like compering apple to oranges. Wars were common in those days and there were little learnings about the outcome of a war. But author has rightly said war can’t solve problems now and substantiated it well with example.
Shekhar was feeling out of sorts as for last one year, we sidelined Pakistan and primarily dealt with China. He is back in his sickular avatar as soon as that Bajwa ‘bajaoed’ peace tunes!
Let us be clear -1 – Art 370 is done and dusted. Is Pakistan ready to recognize J&K and Ladakh as Indian UTs? 2- Next, what offer Pakistan has about POK including GB where we can discuss something? 3- Will Pakistan stop sending terrorist in India? 4- Will Pakistan Parliament as well as current and future Army chiefs are ready to endorse the deals with India?
If these four questions are not answered, we can have any sweet dialogue with Pakistan but will achieve anything. But on and off, we will tactical peace between two DGMOs!
Perhaps Bajwa’s days are numbered or China asked them to cool a bit or Pakistan realized that it is getting trapped into China tentacles, Perhaps wisdom has dawned on Pakis that economic development is possible only when it achieves peace with India- how does it matter to us?
We have dealt firmly with China and rightly, Pakistan is now no more an issue for us, except for terrorism and ISI activities. We are ready to deal on fronts, even if it costs us a lot. In days ahead, our capability and capacity will only increase faster than Pakistan or China. If India cannot take back Aksai Chin by force, so also China cannot move an inch ahead by force. With S-400 coming in and new weapons we have and being developed, PAF and Pak Navy will be immobilized. We will have complete dominance over Pakistan.
Shekhar and Barkhas or the likes can keep talking Pakistan endlessly but he may find there are simply no takers ( as audience or financiers) any more!
PAK ARMY terror infrastructure in Pakistan is intact. Terror organisations like LET N JAISH E MOHAMMED are a mask PAK ARMY wears while carrying out terror attacks in INDIA so that the PAK ARMY cannot be blamed.
THE education system in pakistan which is geared towards producing jihadist instead of scientific thoughtful individuals is basically a anti HINDU jihadist factory.
If PAK ARMY is serious than the population has to be re-educated in modern scienctific education and pakistan must abandon religious education from madrassas. Perhaps after this education system is implemented we can discuss peace with pakistan 20 years down the line.
After the BJP GOVERNMENT under MODIJI decided to retaliate against terrorism emanating from pakistan, PAK ARMY has realised that terrorist attacks inside INDIA is no longer a option. So has china.
They have realised it’s better to rely on jihadist and ultra left wing radicals and church supported naxalites to create chaos and bloodshed in INDIA.
With a radicalized minority opposing modern scienctific education and population control measures INDIA is facing a threat to it’s urge to become a modern scientifically educated and prosperous nation.
What you say about Pakistan is also true for Indian madrassas & mindset!! Same story!!
In essence, what you are saying is “Pakistan is stretching hits hand of friendship and peace. Take it, even if cautiously”. Do you know, Hand Shake arose out of showing to the new friend that the person carries no weapons in his hands? A reassurance to the other party. But, Pakistan’s weapons are already inside India, such as subverters, ideological supporters, communalists masquarading as intellectuals. Even if Pakistan stops exporting terrorists to India, their breed is already here in India.
Ultimate solution to Kashmir problem will be “Finder keeps”. Pakistan keeps PoK and India keeps “IHK” as Pakistanis put it. Notwithstanding Amit Shah’s famous proclamation to give life to get back PoK and Axai Chin, it is not going to happen. With China also, it is better to concede Axai Chin to China so that India can consolidate its hold on Arunachal Pradesh.
Very boring gibberish. Few sensible lines worthy of a child’s school essay. SG needs to declutter his mind — check into a Punjabi spa. Using Modi in headline is desperately craving for eyeballs. Pathetic.
Modi is winning election after election in the name of Pakistan. It is a bounty that keeps giving – nothing unites BJP supporters more than to point out how “tough” Modi is on Pakistan (and Muslims by extension) He ain’t gonna give up on it unless something big comes his way like recognition of LOC as border.
We have heard generals in power from Pakistan say all this before – wait till one of the ambitious junior generals deposes this one or sends some fidayeen sleeper cells across – all this talk will vanish like smoke.
Only thing which will work in my opinion is to educate, assimilate and ensure that Muslims in India prosper – economically and more importantly socially. Muslims seen to be doing well in a Hindu majority country will put immense pressure on Pakistan and the Middle-East to reform and march to modernity together.
What’s wrong with pok or local aksai chin com ming into India’s territory it was ours they forcefully grabbed it and no conversation of returning back don’t be Pakistan’s or chinas puppet
Lol!! Who voted for & created Pakistan?? Did these traitor voters stay back in India to drink Gaumutra & bolster India’s national strength or was it the same sick Islamic mindset at play??
Ha!! Ha!! What about Pakistan killing & converting Hindus & Sikhs 24/7?? When will they leave their dirty & evil communal desert mindset?? Same goes for Bangladesh and Indians who voted for Pakistan but stayed in India!!
No one is kid enough to understand Pakistan drama. Unless Pak dismental it’s terror infrastructure, how come it comes out of grey list and have peaceful relationship with India? Do one think pak is willing to do it now? As per recent information by indian govt, there is increase in infiltration and border shelling incidents in last few years. Clearly, pak is still trying to push terrorists in India. It means is terror infra is well in place, as a part of Pak’s policy. How come India ignore this fundamental fact and fall in line with statement by fauji generals of rogue nation, who are master minding the whole policy ? By dismantling the terror infra, by complying with FATF’s instructios and by coming out of grey list, Pak first walk the talk , which requires policy shift, not an easy task as talk.
A logical conclusion. A very important and pertinent subject, which the Nation needs to debate. Nobody can win a war any longer anywhere in the World. But let us not be under any illusion. To be in a commanding position, looking West, East or North, we do need a strong military. If we are forced to take overt military protection in any way from anybody, we will only grow weaker and suffer in the long run – Germany and japan did it decades ago. It was then. The environment is different now. And you may have realised India is not Germany or Japan in size and character.
Tail piece: Building a Nation is more than just about “ripped jeans” nor about the similar comment (on a dress) of a “million dollar suit”. Let the Nation (and the media) not lose sleep on such frivolous issues.
Whatever…but The Print is little more unbiased than The Wire, Quint …agree?
(T)rust

Print media is a dog of china nd Pakistan,,,,,,,
That looks offensive. Please respect journalists.
It is an opinion article so this may not be acceptable to someone some may feel it good. But please dont use such kind of words sir.
Narrative in both directions need to change which is responsible for creating a hostel relations. Pakistan is more responsible for this than India.
A waste of cyber width. Tired? Weekends are for rest. Pakistan is not worth time.
And sir who cares about your opinion and advise. Realise this and please stop preaching more cowardly behaviour
Wishful thinking
True if two India and Pakistan come to terms with each other; the region will prosper for better.
Why repeat what you day-dreamed three times? I am sure you have been one of the victims of those email scams promising money for nothing! Loser.
It’s not in anybody’s interest, to go to war. True if two India and Pakistan come to terms with each other; the region will prosper for better.
A bankrupt Pakistan will automatically fall in line. Indians don’t need to waste time on these idiots.

Ha!! Ha!! Here comes a comgressi/Paki stooge!!
Wrongs narrative are being publish ..Sorry
You are a stupid moronic shit sg you fool pakistan ass licker pseudo secular trash. We Indians hate the print and bbc
Correct!!
You cannot trust pakus.
First thing Print is supporting Pakistan and everyone knows that.
Print hates BJP and hindu everyone knows thats the thing is someday you will be shut and i pray for that
Absolutely correct!!

Pathetic.
SG is becoming senile in his old age especially after the BJP began squeezing his ‘tooti’!
Till Pakistan returns PoK back to India and treats it’s minorities fairly particularly Sindh, there is no chance of peace.
Correct!!
Anything for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Well said colonel sab, much appreciated
Correct! Col. Viswanahan!
