I agree with Akash. FATF is nit new. They are taking that heat for years and making a mockery of it by making cosmetic changes. Problems in Baluchistan, Mohajir etc are not new, they are decades old issues. Pashtuns to some extent pacified with Army jobs. Honestly I hate this narrative of ‘our side good, there side bad’. Do we not have internal problem? There are farmer protesting and economy is in decline. Do these not count as internal problems? We now also face much greater threat from China which is why we even had to rush large part of troops and weapons on loc to lac to match Chinese numbers. Lastly there is also US pressure on both the countries. US want Pakistan to focus on Afghanistan and India to focus on China. So we were also compelled to accept the ceasefire. There is no way this ceasefire would hold very long if one side was not very compelled to accept ceasefire. Underestimating your enemy is wrong and we are already paying a heavy price for underestimating the threat from China. Our Generals and Government always insisted that there is well established mechanisms on Chinese border to resolve the border issues. How did that turn out for us?
