Given their history of “Maharashtra for Maharashtrians” slogan (the first promulgator of which was born in Balaghat, MP — albeit his father WAS Maharashtrian with some admiration for the author of “Vanity Fair”, the reason their name was altered from Thakre to Thackeray), especially against Gujaratis who provided much of the work in Mumbai…fact that they got above zippo in Gujarat they should be thankful for!!!
Marathas should learn that shiv sena is not only useless but most corrupt party in Maharashtra.BMC officials have made millions and the Police is always busy in taking HAFTA’S. Every day people die on the road, trains, buses. Lack of infrastructure.
This party Shiv Sena is irrelevant outside Maharashtra. It has swindled bmc and Mumbai is suffering due to poor infrastructure bad roads because of Shiv Senas corruption. I do not know why marathas vote for this corrupt party which is anti national and a threat to non marathi Indians in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena and Raj Thakhre should be tried for inciting hatred and crimes against Indians.
Pointless, futile, with not even symbolic value. The big question the party needs to ask itself is : Should we continue our alliance with the BJP or walk out of the central and state cabinets ? As of now, even its control over the cash rich BMC, its political lifeline, is contingent on BJP supoort. In Delhi, the Shiv Sena is irrelevant to the survival or effectiveness of the government, but in Bombay that is not the case. For three years, the state government has been unable to perform to its full potential, hobbled by the uncertainty and the odd situation of being criticised on a continuing basis by an alliance partner. The NCP is being kept on hold as Plan B. Personally, one feels both alliance partners will be better off together than by splitting. The elections due in summer and fall of 2019 will be much more testing than 2014.
I am marathi and was a staunch Balasaheb Thakaray follower. His son is an idiot. SHivsena will be reduced to rubbles in 2019. Wait and watch.
